Salt dough keepsake ornaments
30 minutes + adult oven drying · Ages 6+

1 cup plain flour, ½ cup salt, about ½ cup water, rolling pin, cutters, ribbon
What you’ll need
1 cup plain flour, ½ cup salt, about ½ cup water, rolling pin, cutters, ribbon
Make it your own
- Mix flour and salt. Add water gradually until you have a firm dough.
- Roll to about 5 mm thick and cut simple shapes. Make a ribbon hole.
- An adult can dry them in a 100°C oven for about 2 hours, checking them; thicker pieces may need longer. Let them cool completely.
- Paint the dry shapes and add ribbon. These are decorations, not food.
