No-Sew Fabric Christmas Tree Ornaments

Use favourite fabric scraps without sewing. Cardboard supports each flat shape, while felt backing hides the edges and finishes the ornament on both sides.

Materials

• Thin reused card for 3 triangles, each 7 cm wide × 10 cm tall
• 3 cotton fabric pieces, each approximately 11 × 14 cm
• Felt scraps for 3 matching tree-shaped backs
• Fabric glue suitable for card and felt
• 60 cm narrow ribbon, cut into three 20 cm lengths
• Pencil, ruler, fabric scissors and clips

Step by step

1. Draw and cut three card triangles. Cut three felt triangles the same size. Place each card triangle on the wrong side of its fabric and cut around it, leaving a 1.5 cm allowance.
2. Apply a thin layer of fabric glue to one side of the card and press it onto the fabric's wrong side. Smooth from the middle outward.
3. Fold fabric allowances over the card edges, trimming bulky corners with adult help. Glue to the back and hold with clips.
4. Fold a ribbon length into a loop. Glue both ends securely onto the back near the top point, then cover the back with the matching felt triangle.
5. Press flat under a light book protected with baking paper. Let the glue cure fully according to its label before removing clips and hanging.

Useful tips

• Choose small fabric prints and skip beads or buttons.

Safety and storage

Adults handle fabric scissors; supervise glue use and follow its label. Keep ribbon loops and ornaments away from small children and pets. Display indoors away from heaters and open flames.
