Little Strawberry Santas
Strawberry hats, banana faces and cream-cheese beards make a small Christmas assembly activity for children.

A festive food idea
Strawberry hats, banana faces and cream-cheese beards make a small Christmas assembly activity for children.
Ingredients
- 12 large strawberries
- ⅓ cup cream cheese, softened
- 1 Tbsp icing sugar
- 1–2 bananas
- 20g dark chocolate, chopped
Method
- Wash strawberries and pat completely dry. Beat cream cheese with icing sugar until smooth; spoon into a piping bag.
- Adults trim the leafy ends flat, then cut off each pointed top to make a hat. Cut 12 banana slices.
- Pipe a little cream cheese onto each strawberry base. Add one banana slice, then its strawberry hat.
- Melt chocolate gently in short microwave bursts, stirring between bursts. Cool slightly and pipe tiny eyes and buttons.
- Use remaining cream cheese for hat pom-poms. Chill and serve the same day.
Useful tips
- Children can assemble and decorate while adults cut and melt.
- Make shortly before serving because banana discolours.
Safety and storage
Adults handle knives and melting. Keep chilled. Cut into age-appropriate pieces for young children; avoid toothpicks.
