About Christmas Ideas NZ

Christmas Ideas NZ is a Christmas community and website created by Pip Delany-Lott in Christchurch, New Zealand. It grew from the Christmas Ideas NZ Facebook group into a place to find inspiration, share ideas and keep useful finds together.

Christmas that fits your household

You will find small Elf setups, things to make, family activities and traditions. Our wider app also brings together festive outings, light displays, shops, gifts and local ways to give. Some ideas take a few minutes; others are projects you can adapt to the time, supplies and budget you have.

Christmas in New Zealand can mean summer picnics, a late-evening lights outing, handmade cards or familiar family rituals. There is no single way to celebrate. Use these ideas as a starting point and keep the parts that suit you.

How the public guides are put together

Our selected public guides offer practical instructions and editorial suggestions. Where an idea, photograph or technique comes from a contributor or another source, we retain the available credit and acknowledgement. Illustrative photos are identified where they do not show the exact project. Editorial suggestions are not a claim that a contributor tested every variation.

The app contains a wider catalogue of listings and ideas. Our selected public guides focus on complete, practical instructions, and the collection will grow as more guides are finished. Dates, prices, opening hours and availability can change; check an organiser or retailer before making plans.

Partners and community contributions

Contributor photos remain subject to their owners’ rights. Some listings have been supplied by retailers or organisers, and sponsored or affiliate material should be read with its disclosure. A product listing is not a promise of stock or an endorsement by the original image creator.
